Before You Run.

Ask yourself the following questions as you determine whether or not you will run for office.

Why do you want to run for office?

If running against an incumbent, what do you have that makes you a better candidate to serve the people?

Are you willing to commit the time, money, and effort it takes to run for office?

Realistically, can you win the position? Is it a strong Democrat district? Is there a strong Republican currently in that position?

Are you willing to listen to and take advice from others?

Is your spouse & family supportive of you running for office?

Will you have to give up your job to serve in the position you are running for?

Are you comfortable or okay with asking people for money?

Do you have anything in your background that will hinder you from running for office?

Do you have a full understanding of the role and responsibilities of the position you are running for?
